TEXAS RESIDENT ARRESTED FOR ARSON IN TOWN OF HOLLAND
September 22, 2009- Town of Holland- 1:05 PM- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of Austin Texas resident for Arson.
Deputy Jeff Ely and John Davis responded Partridge Rd. in town of Holland to a report of the resident's brother setting fire to the bedroom of the home. The 55-year-old brother then fled the residence before the deputies arrived. The homeowner quickly extinguished the fire.
The suspect was apprehended a short time later on Meadow Lane when an alert resident reported seeing a suspicious person in their yard. The suspect appeared to be having some type of mental episode at the time of arrest. He was charged with Arson in the third degree, a class C felony.
Suspect who is a resident of Austin Texas was here visiting his brother. He was transported to the ECMC for a mental evaluation and then held at the Erie County Holding Center and will be arraigned in Holland Court at a later date.
Suspect's name is not being released at this time.
