SUBJECT: Felony Driving While Intoxicated Arrest
LOCATION: Route 400, Elma
DELEVAN RESIDENT ARRESTED FOR DWI IN ELMA
September 22, 2009- Town of Elma- 3:10 PM-Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Delevan resident for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and numerous other charges.
Deputy David Makowski and Joseph Raczynski were investigating the report of a vehicle operating recklessly on Route 400 in the town of Elma. Deputy Makowski attempted to stop the vehicle, which was traveling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle refused to stop and exited onto Jamison Rd. The vehicle did eventually stop on Seneca St. The driver, Paul Williams, age 45, of Pioneer Lane, Delevan was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
Williams was charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated. The breath test result was .09% BAC. Additional charges include Unlawful Fleeing from a Police Officer, Reckless Driving, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and numerous other vehicle and traffic violations. Williams was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Elma Court.
