October 4 2009- Town of Clarence- Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest this evening of a Lockport woman on a charge of endangering the welfare of a child. Julie R. Daiotto, age 31 of Old Beattie Road, had gone into the Wal-Mart to shop, leaving her children, ages 2 and 6 unattended in her vehicle. A store employee became concerned when he spotted the children alone in the vehicle and alerted the Sheriff's Office. Deputy Dan Brinkerhoff responded to investigate and found the children crying in the vehicle. They had been left with the family dog.
Shortly thereafter, Daiotto exited the store with her 8 year old child. She was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and was released on an appearance ticket pending a future date in the Town of Clarence Court.
